Hello Mr. Albom,

My name is Serena Desai and I'm a high school student involved in Speech&Debate. After reading your novel Tuesdays with Morrie, I was inspired and decided to do a speech on the novel. Sure enough I found that in 2007, at Augie's Quest Black and Blue Bash,  you gave a speech on Morrie and the novel. I've been using your speech at my tournaments and it just mesmerizes my fellow competitors and judges. Even after my round are through, judges come up to me saying they feel enlightened and inspired too, so I tell them to read your novels. When people ask where I found the speech, I tell them from the internet; I found a video of your speech on Youtube. I transcribed the speech word for word myself, asI was unable to find the transcription of the speech online. However, I found out today that transcribing a speech that is not online, or using a speech with no official copy or documentation of it, makes the speech illegitimate. I chose your speech because I was inspired by it, have passion for it, and consider it one of the most poignant speeches a student could ever deliver. I was hoping you could post the transcription of the speech online or on your website so I can continue to use it at tournaments and further inspire my judges. It would mean a lot to me and the other students involved in the National Forensics League.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Serena Desai

Hi Serena, Actually, I don't

Hi Serena,

Actually, I don't think I have a transcript available to post to the site. Since you've done so much work to put it together, why don't you post it here in the message boards? I can then review it and post it "officially" to the site.

Thanks,

Brenda

The speech :)

Hi, Brenda! My name is Abby Alfaro and I was planning on using this speech at this year's national tournament in Washington D.C.. Unfortunately I've come across the same problem as Serena, and I was wondering if (and where) the speech actually got published on this site. Thanks!

Fondly, Abby Alfaro
