My first love, the Beatles. I was at the public library when I was seven years old and was intrigued by the record players. What are these things and how do they work I thought? Knowing only that the Beatles were amongst my parents cassette collection, I found their LP and dove in. Confused as to how this contraption worked and even more dazzled as to how it made music I placed the disc on the turntable and powered it up. With the seemingly over-sized headphones perched delicately on my undersized head, I heard it.....Yesterday. Back then it was just a song, it had no meaning to me. I hadn't considered anything in my past as significant, nor did I feel that I had any troubles that needed reconciling, besides wetting the bed. Later in my life I found profound meaning in their message. Over the years my relationship with the Beatles blossomed into a full fledged romance; reading books, memorizing lyrics, unearthing deep tracks and interviews, stripping each member down as individuals and as a part of the mega group. Growing up they were such a large part of my life, but now it is different. I don't need to listen to them to hear there music. I just close my eyes and let it warm me like a fresh pair of socks right out of the dryer. Thanks you for the music and the memories.
