I followed David Bowie in the 7o's primarily. I had a neighbor back then who tried imitating him. He took such fancy to his hair and outfits and electric guitar and always prided himself in showing me how he had become. It was cute. Then as the years went by I still heard his music on the radio but as David Bowie got older he dropped a lot of the costumes and make up and hair ect... He started looking like other people. That must of been when he wasn't noticed as much. It is a shame that he passed away as 69 really isn't that old today. I liked your article and can relate going into the record store as you have described. It was fun back then. It was fun looking at the album covers and deciding what to buy next. It gave the younger generation something to look forward to.
