Time to Help: DTE-Gleaners
DTE Energy converted some of its land into gardens which are managed by Gleaners Community Food Bank to grow fresh produce vital to basic nutrition. These gardens feed needy people through Gleaners’ partnerships with neighborhood food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters & social service agencies. Four gardens in the metro-Detroit area are referred to as DTE Energy Farm.
Project scope: Harvest vegetable crops: beans, beets, cabbage and carrots, chard, collard greens, kale. Prepare garden beds for spring planning.
Volunteers: Wear closed-toe shoes for safety. Bring your own gloves, garden tools, shovels; if you have, wheel barrels.
Parking: Access using road behind main building to garden site
