River Readers

We are a group of readers in Tucson AZ (No, not a lot of rivers here, but that’s the name of the street and the library where we meet). The group has been meeting for 25 + years. Members always read the book and discussion is fantastic – with everyone contributing. Books are chosen by voting on nominated books. Then a different person leads the discussion each month. This year one of the books was, “The Little Liar.”

We live in Point of Americas I & II, a condo complex in Fort Lauderdale, FL on the southernmost point of Fort Lauderdale Beach where the cruise ships leave Port Everglades. We are an eclectic group and currently have 25 members. We love to read books that make us think.

Our book club is from PEI, Canada. We started a bookclub in November 2015, and have been reading one book a month and meeting to discuss since then. We have read over 100 books together! Each month a member is picked to host, pick the book, and come up with discussion questions. We are a group of ladies in our 30’s.

We are friends and “sisters” who also worship together. We try to read a lot of different genres. We are about to read our second Mitch Albom book, The Little Liar. We read Stranger in the Lifeboat a few months ago. It is always a consensus that we love his books.

There are 6 of us, all RNs who worked together at Southeast Michigan hospitals (2 of us met Mitch at his Beaumont visit). Collectively we have 265 years of caring for patients, from infants to the elderly. We are reviewing our first of Mitch’s books The Stranger in the Lifeboat this month.
