It is so true to keep the family connection. I wish i had more family . Not enough for me. It is true when the older family members die the family sometimes fall apart. No one feels the same. I took on getting what family is left together about 3x a year. It has been fun and I think that everyone enjoys themselves too. I am the youngest of the immediate family. So I took it on to invite and get the date that others can make it. I have one cousin that says "Theresa you do it so well". It is easy for me to do it. Others are not as successful as I have been.
As far as Covid goes we have gotten together. Most everyone has been vaccinated but I would never want to exclude anyone that wanted to attend because they are not vaccinated. I think that is so rude to exclude or now my customers are buying the covid tests and want their Thanksgiving guests to be tested before going to their house. I would not do that either. I figure we can always space apart if need be. If they feel more comfortable they can take it upon themselves to get tested.
They are all getting older and have some health issues and you never know how long they may be around. I would never think of not getting together. For holidays though we just keep in our small family groups. So this Thursday I get off of work. So excited and going to my nieces for dinner. The week after is my birthday and our same small group is getting together to celebrate my birthday in Frankenmuth. Then it is on to Christmas and my other niece comes with the kids to join our small group. Not many. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
