Defeat DIPG Dream Big Gala – Rockville, MD

The 3rd Annual Defeat DIPG Dream Big Gala raises funds for research for a cure for DIPG, the deadliest childhood brain cancer.  This important and meaningful evening will include festive cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres, followed by a delicious seated dinner.  Guests will have the opportunity to bid on a range of fantastic items, including *dream* experiences, in our exciting silent and live auction.

The event features special guest speaker and honoree Mitch Albom. Guests will have the incredible opportunity to hear Mitch Albom speak live about a beautiful little girl named Chika who transformed his and his wife Janine’s life.  Mitch and Janine brought Chika to Michigan from an orphanage in Haiti to become a part of their family, after receiving the devastating news that she was diagnosed with DIPG.

Mr. Albom will be releasing “Chika:  A Little Girl, An Earthquake, and the Making of a Family” in November 2019, and all gala attendees will receive an autographed copy of the book upon its release.  Mr. Albom is an internationally renowned and best-selling author, journalist, screenwriter, playwright, radio and television broadcaster and musician. His books have collectively sold more than 39 million copies worldwide.

Event Emcee Tommy McFly, the dynamic host of The Tommy Show and contributor on NBC4Washington, will take us through the program.  After dinner, mingle with old and new friends and dance the night away on our dance floor.
