When Eddie meets his wife, Marguerite, in heaven, she tells him, “Lost love is still love…It takes a different form, that’s all.” Though our loved ones may no longer be with us physically, our love takes a new form: memory. How do you keep alive the memories of your loved ones?
For me it’s quite simple really – I collect things that people have given me – presents, cards – a great number of things – memories really – these objects, especially photos, and songs that remind me of people – I store all these things away, and when I’m feeling lonely, or when I need to remember just more clearly, I find these things, and the memories come flooding. It can be painful sometimes, but I’m always left more fulfilled – I never forget my loved ones.
