Good day Mr. Albom I’m Estela Mariz Durante, grade 9 student from Laguna, Philippines. This past few days I had read your book entitled Tuesdays with Morrie, actually this kind of book is wonderful and an inspirational book, thank you for making this book for us! Regarding to your book, I want to ask a question about it. What do you think will Morrie do if their situation got switch? Thank you and God Bless!
Well, the book is a true story about me and Morrie, so I have to say that I don’t want to imagine our scenarios switched.
But if you’re asking how Morrie dealt in connecting with someone who was ill as he was, I think the chapter titled, “The First Tuesday” is a great passage to look at. Morrie had empathy in spades. Even as he faced his own suffering, he would weep for the suffering of strangers as deeply as he felt the suffering of friends who visited. They would come seeking to comfort him, and they would leave feeling comforted by Morrie. That’s just who he was.
