You know I guess I am just old fashioned but fathers are important. They do teach their children different things. For the most part they were always the bread winners. They are there to give out support when the kids are sick. They can teach what they know to their children and a father knows different things than a mother does normally.Like how to fish change the oil on a car, tools, just different stuff that they can pass down. You lead by example. Fathers that aren't present is just sad for the kids. So many different circumstances that can lead up to that. Sometimes it isn't always the father's fault. Sometimes in divorced couples the mother doesn't want the father around the kids at all. Not willing to compromise. It leaves a lasting impression on the kids when the parents aren't willing to work together. I am for traditional parents that get married.
