We are a group of retired women from various backgrounds who settled in Breckenridge, Co. We are very active living in the mountains and taking in all of natures wonderful bounties here. We have about 23 members and many are seasonal residents, so our discussion groups are usually around 12-15. In December at our Christmas party each member talks about the book she is recommending, then we vote and the 12 books with the most votes makes up our book list for the coming year.
When was your group formed?: 2009
Where do you meet?: Member’s home
How does your group choose which books to read?: Vote
Do you use reading group guides?: Yes
Hi Jean and the ladies of Wine, Women & Words. Thank you for sharing these details about your group. I hope you’ll return here and share details about your reading list for this year. I wish I had a new book of my own to share, but that’s for next year.
Your friend–
Mitch
Mitch,
Thank you for your interest in our group. Tomorrow night I’m leading our group in reviewing your book, “The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto.” I will be using some of your discussion questions. I must say it’s been my favorite book for awhile and still made me cry after the second reading. I’ll let you know what the group has to say. Would love to be able to tell the group what the topic of your next book will be?
Best regards,
Jean
Hi Jean,
I didn’t see this in time. I hope your event went well, I’d love to hear more.
There will be some news about my next book very soon. Let’s just say that if you’ve read and enjoyed my previous novels, especially one of them, you’re going to like what comes next!
Your friend,
Mitch
My book club will be reviewing your book on Thursday, April 13, 2017. I loved the book and will be sharing the album as we share the story of Frankie Pesto. You’re invited to share your thoughts with us or come and join us!
I loved the development of the character of Frankie Pesto and I can’t wait to hear the discussion.
I have read and enjoyed all of your books. I admire the full schedule you keep and your involvement with so many causes. Looking forward to your next book.
Thank you, Joyce. I’m so honored you’ll be spending time with Frankie and Aurora. I hope your talk goes well.
