About This Episode
Today’s episode focuses on the pace of life. The speed with which we are living our lives. We fill up every minute with, not just one activity, but multiple tasks at once. Stopping to smell the roses is barely part of our vocabulary anymore. Maybe it’s time we all slowed down to enjoy the moments we are given and, as Morrie said, take time to see what’s outside our own windows.
I think that people spend too much time on their phones and devices. Something I do not do with my flip phone. I have a home phone and would prefer someone to call me on that one but they don’t. Just the junk phone calls So my flip phone I may text once in awhile to get a quick response. Working is important to me it is probably my busiest task but I don’t work excessive amounts of hours . I check my emails on the computer a couple of times a day but if I have other things that need to be done I do them before and put off being on the computer. When I go on vacation I like to go with a rustic cabin and go swimming, and just looking at the tree and chipmunks and going to festival and going out to eat. I do not spend time on phones or I spend time to relax I may check emails on a tablet in a restaurant after dinner. The cabin does not have internet or TV. I bring magazines and reading material along when I sit at the pool. I relax and enjoy it but then when it is back to work you do multitask all the time. They push to get things done in less amount of time . The ones younger than myself do not work this way at all. I think that i am the oldest where I work. I never used to be we had older ones but they are no longer there. I have 21 years in where i work but not always respected. I am trying to figure out a good retirement job for myself someday. As long as I am able I will work. A good podcast and yeah everyone needs to slow down a bit.
