Project: Motor City Blightbusters

Project Details: Motor City Blight Busters is a Detroit non-profit dedicated to the stabilization of our Detroit neighborhoods. Since 1988, they have been a positive catalyst for Detroit neighborhoods, families, and volunteers by tearing down blighted and abandoned homes, cleaning up dump sites, painting exisiting houses, cleaning up neighborhoods, building new houses, founding Angel’s night, and many other positive activities. Part of the 2012 plan for Blight Busters is the deconstruction and urban farming project located on Santa Clara Street.

Volunteers will be clearing a city block to build Farm City Detroit. Volunteers will be removing debris and trash, painting, doing yard work, and helping to tear down blighted buildings.
