Food Bank Restocked

Mar 24, 2014 | News | 0 comments

On Saturday, March 22, Time To Help monthly volunteers came out in record numbers to help sort more than 20,000 pounds of food to be distributed to Detroit’s needy by Gleaners Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan.

Several first time volunteers and a large group of repeat and regular workers finished the job in less than two hours, prompting the good folks at Gleaners to marvel that they’ve rarely seen a team work so quickly and so efficiently.  Everyone seemed to have a great time, too (see photos below)!  Gleaners has been – and will continue to be – a favorite among Time to Help workers, so look for a return trip down the road.

In the meantime, the next Time To Help project is slated for Saturday, April 26.  Continue to check www.atimetohelp.org for the location and details.
