Life-Saving Dental Care at S.A.Y. Detroit Family Health Clinic

The S.A.Y. Detroit Family Health Clinic continues to expand offerings to serve the underserved through a new alliance with the recently-formed, community-based dental team from Covenant Community Care. Students from the University of Detroit Dental School, under the direction of Dr. Heidi Hudson, the director of the community based team, are reaching out to serve those with limited or no access to dental care.

Three completely mobile units occupy a 20-30 foot space and will remain on site at the clinic for a period of five days. The objective is to treat as many patients with severe dental diseases as possible. The clinic has been working with Covenant to make this dream a reality for several months and now it is here.

One grateful patient weighed in: “I have never been to a dentist in my life and this has been such a blessing to get my teeth fixed so I can eat real food now.”

Thank you to S.A.Y. Detroit and Covenant Community Care!
