The 100 Houses Project

Jul 10, 2012 | News | 0 comments

Volunteers are needed to help us board up lower level windows of unsafe, abandoned homes within a one-mile radius of Osborne High School in Detroit. Through our “100 Houses” Project sponsored by SAY Detroit and the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, we’ll target 100 of the area’s most dangerous homes and make them a lot safer before the start of another school year.

We’ll gather at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, in a lot across the street from Turning Point Academy, which is located at 12300 Linnhurst Street, Detroit, MI 48205. One foreman will work with five volunteers to complete two houses, so we’ll need 250-300 volunteers.

Sign up:

  • call (866) 992-GIVE
  • You may also volunteer through A Time to Help by signing up at www.atimetohelp.org or emailing timetohelpcoordinator@gmail.com

If you don’t live in the area but would like to help, please share this with friends and family who may be able to.

Please Note:

Project Date: August 25th. Please arrive by 8:00 a.m.

Age restrictions: volunteers must be at least 18 years of age

Recommended: For your safety and protection, please wear work boots and bring work gloves.
