Working Homes/Working Families

Oct 20, 2011 | News | 0 comments

Working Homes/Working Families is a new charity devoted to providing homes for working families in need of decent housing. Homes that are donated or abandoned are rehabbed with the help of volunteers from A Time to Help and the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries.

The Wilson family, pictured below, is the first recipient of a home. Earlier this year, Mitch Albom wrote about Kristy and Armando, and their eight children, who were being evicted out of their sewage and mold-filled home. With the help of Working Homes/Working Families, they now have a clean and safe home.

If you know of homes that may be repurposed by Working Homes/Working Families, please contact the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries at (313) 993-4700 or www.drmm.org.
